Choose what Ahoy does on its own
Set up auto-approval for AI Actions, and decide what still waits for you.
By default, every AI Action waits for you. Auto-approval lets you hand the routine ones to Ahoy, so you only review what matters. You choose exactly what runs on its own.
AVAILABILITY
If you don't see Auto-approval in your settings, it isn't turned on for your workspace yet. Contact the Ahoy team.
What never runs on its own
Sending emails and deleting records always need your approval. No setting changes that.
Turn on auto-approval
- Go to Settings → AI → AI Actions.
- Under Auto-approval, turn the toggle on.
- Next to Applies to, click Edit and choose your record types.
Record types are Contacts & companies, plus each of your pipelines. Ahoy can create records of the types you choose and move them forward. Actions on other record types still ask for approval.
Your rules are your own. Each person sets auto-approval for their own actions.
What's included while it's on
These CRM basics are always handled automatically while auto-approval is on. They can't be turned off on their own.
- Notes and meeting summaries
- Linking activity to records
- Filling empty fields
Choose a rule for each kind of update
Open Customize to set a rule for each action.
| Action | Rule options |
|---|---|
| Marking records won, lost, or done | Ask first, Auto-approve, or Some record types |
| Moving records back a stage | Ask first, Auto-approve, or Some record types |
| Assigning records to teammates | Ask first, Auto-approve, or Some record types |
| Changing details someone entered | Ask first, Auto-approve, or Some record types |
| Merging duplicate records | Ask first, Auto-approve, or Some record types |
Changes save automatically. Each change shows a confirmation with Undo. Reset action rules puts every rule back to its starting point.
See what was auto-approved
An action that ran under your rules is labeled Auto-approved under your rules, with an Edit rules link back to this page.
Turn it off
Turn the toggle off and every action waits for your approval again. Your rules are kept for when you turn it back on.
Other settings on this page
- Suggestions. Turn on Suggest work outside your pipelines to get suggestions for things like investor updates or inbound job applications. These are always a suggestion, never automatic, and they stay private to you.
- Routing for records with no owner. Account admins choose who receives actions for records nobody owns. Each action goes to one person on the list, not to everyone.
- Notifications. Follow Notification settings to choose how you're told when Ahoy needs your approval.
